SN Brussels Airlines

Some facts about SN Brussels Airlines.

Belgian airline  SN Brussels airlines started in 1919 as SNETA (Syndicat pour l’Etude des Transports Aeriens), later it became known as the legendary SABENA which started in May 1923. SABENA (Societé Autonome Belge pour l’Exploitation de la Navigation Aériennne) was one of the first European airlines. It started with flights to Amsterdam, Basle, Copenhagen,  Strasbourg and London. The modern SN Brussels airlines is still flying a number of these destinations.

But SABENA’s world fame came with its activities in the former Belgian Congo (later Zaire, now Congo). From 1925 the Belgian national airline  began to fly to and in  the Congo. It became known as one of the world’s safest and most efficient airlines. In 2002 SABENA changed its name to SN Brussels Airlines, continuing with the same exquisite services.

SN Brussels Airlines has had many positive year results in a row. Despite difficult international market conditions, the Belgian company is  steadily growing. Since October 2004 the company signed an agreement with Virgin Express placing them under the common ownership of SN Airholding.
