Belgian Sheepdog

A few characteristics of the Belgian Sheepdog.

The Belgian Sheepdog is a well balanced elegant dog  and is squarely proportioned. Being strong, agile, well muscled, alert and full of life, it gives the impression of depth and solidity without bulkiness. The male Belgian Sheepdog is usually more impressive than the female.

The head of the Belgian Sheepdog should be clean-cut and strong. The eyes are brown, preferably dark, and the gaze should be intelligent and questioning. The ears are triangular in shape and should be stiff and erect. The nose and lips should be black, without spots and no pink showing on the outside.

The coat of the Belgian Sheepdog should be long, straight and abundant, not silky or wiry. On the head the hair is shorter, but the opening of the ear is protected by tufts of hair. On the lower part of the legs the hair is also shorter. The color of the coat is black, sometimes with a little white on the chest, chin and muzzle, between the pads of the feet and on the tips of the hind toes.
